Ep. 31 – Olive Hemmings: Prophetic Promise of Sabbath

Dr. Olive Hemmings preaches on Sabbath and justice at the Emmanuel Brinklow Seventh-day Adventist Church (Sept 2018). The sermon’s title is “The Prophetic Promise of Sabbath.”

Since 1983, Dr. Hemmings has been teaching in Adventist Higher education, preparing students for gospel ministry. She is an ordained minister in the Columbia Union, and she pursues an active itinerant preaching/teaching ministry both nationally and internationally. Dr. Hemmings publishes in many journals, both Adventist and non-Adventist, and she published the book, Sacred Text and Social Conflict: The Bible and the Debate over Women’s Ordination in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She is currently a professor in the Department of Religion at Washington Adventist University, and she is a member of the Adventist Peace Fellowship Board of Directors.
